The Journal of Human Rights, Culture and Legal System (JHCLS) is a peer-reviewed periodical that provides a dynamic platform for the dissemination of ideas on comparative law and reports on developments in the field of human rights protection from all parts of the world. In our contemporary globalized world, it is almost impossible to isolate developments in the law in one jurisdiction or society from another. At the same time, what is traditionally called comparative law is increasingly subsumed under aspects of International Law. The JHCLS, therefore, aims to maintain the discipline of comparative legal studies as vigorous and dynamic by deepening the space for comparative work in its transnational context. JHCLS is an open-access, peer-reviewed, and refereed international journal published by Lembaga Contrarius Indonesia.

The scope of JHCLS includes both private and public law, with a particular focus on comparative studies. The Editors encourage authors to submit interdisciplinary articles and/or analyse a legal problem from a comparative perspective. We particularly welcome proposals elaborating on how the comparative method is applied in domestic and international law-making and jurisprudence. Consequently, we invite original contributions on public international law and the protection of human rights. By the same token, we welcome papers dealing with all fields of public law, legal theory, legal justice and philosophy, as well as the history of law.

The journal enthusiastically welcomes submissions from scholars in related fields. In publishing, however, novelty and timeliness of issues take precedence.  We are pleased to announce that JHCLS has been ACCEPTED into the SCOPUS indexing database as of 2 March 2023. Now, JHCLS has entered the SINTA 1 Accreditation Rank.

If the submitted manuscript does not adhere to the guidelines or uses a different format, it will be rejected before being reviewed by the editorial staff. The editorial staff will only accept a manuscript that adheres to the formatting specifications.

All submissions must be made through the JHCLS OJS system. We accept absolutely NO submissions via email.

There is no LoA made by the Editor. LoA is issued solely in the form of an accepted paper notification.
